FOUR HUSBANDS~FOUR LIVES:
ONE WOMAN'S SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Four Husbands~Four Lives: One Woman's Spiritual Journey is a memoir encompassing fifty years of life, beginning with my childhood and ending with my fourth wedding day.

The first of my “four lives” begins in my early 20's with meeting the soon-to-be father of my children, then regresses to my early childhood, teen and young adult years, revealing feelings of worthlessness and rejection; dating and marrying; the birth of our two children; my waywardness and involvement in an esoteric cult.

The second section relates how I met my second husband; leaving my first husband and children to travel cross-country with him; my spiritual transformation; his alcohol abuse and domestic violence; his abandonment and return; and the untimely end of our marriage.

Section three tells of meeting a Native American man, my third husband; our long-distance courtship; travel notes; our troubled marriage; his Navajo culture; and meeting the man who was to become my fourth husband.

The last section (my “fourth life”) recounts the events leading to the decision to divorce and the attending trauma; church discipline; relationship with John and our wedding on the beach; and how, after suffering much grief over my decision, I came to accept God's mercy and forgiveness and His message of grace.

This manuscript began as a catharsis during a time of much mental anguish. I decided to have it published because I believe there are others out there who struggle with guilt, bitterness, or other negative emotions who can't seem to get over the hump, who may think God has dumped them because of their failures, and who might find encouragement in being able to relate with my life experiences. I tell my story hoping to impart hope: that those who have fallen in their walk with God will not despair, but will find comfort in knowing of His desire to pick us up, clean us up with the precious blood of His Son, and keep us from repeating the error of our ways.....and by taking the reader through my journey, he or she may find the way to persevere through God's grace.
